Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
was a member of the cast of Saturday Night Live before going on to be a star in
big-screen comedy like 'Elf "Anchorman" and Talladega Nights. Will
Ferrell was born in Irvine in 1967. He started his career in comedy as a member
of the group based in Los Angeles, The Groundlings. Following his seven-year
tenure as a Saturday Night Live cast member, Ferrell was one of the most
renowned comedic actors of the field with off-color hit films like Old School
(2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004). Ferrell was a
co-founder of Funny or Die, a well-known video streaming site. Ferrell also had
his success as a voice actor in animated movies such as Megamind (2010). John
William Ferrell, born July 16, 1967 in Irvine, California. The youngest son of
Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell and teacher Kay Ferrell, Will
was--by his own admission--hardly the class clown in his time as a student at
University High School. Ferrell, who was quiet and studious decided to leave
his mark in football where he set an all-time record at the school for the most
field goals made. Ferrell was a more relaxed person living in suburban homes,
and he didn't display the same outlandish or humorous exasperations later on
that defined his career. "Very even tempered, very comfortable," his
mother recalled in an interview with Esquire. "You're familiar with those
Matchbox cars?" Will be lining up his Matchbox cars, by himself and be
extremely happy. It would be a simple question "Do you want to go Disneyland
this morning?" or "You want your cars lined up?" and then he'd
need to think about the idea. Ferrell wasn't exactly a straight-laced man. One
glimpse of Ferrell's comedy abilities was seen every morning at high school
when he disguised himself to announce the events of the day over the
loudspeaker system. Ferrell graduated in 1986 and attended the University of
Southern California in Los Angeles. There he joined Delta Tau fraternity to
pursue the degree of a sports reporter.
