Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was born on November 30, 1977, in Miami, Florida. Steve Aoki is an American electro house musician and record producer. He is also a D.J. Music executive. He is the third child of Rocky Aoki and Chizuru Kbayashi. His father, who was a former wrestler, was also the co-founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older siblings who are sisters Kana who is usually called Grace due to her middle name Grace, as well as brother Kevin (owner of Doraku Sushi). Half-sister Devon Aoki is a model and actress. He was born in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, where he was a player on the team for badminton on the varsity. Then, he attended UC Santa Barbara, graduating with two B.A. He earned two degrees: one in sociology and one in feminist studies. He was a student at the college who produced records by himself and hosted underground music in his Biko space at Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative. The Pickle Patch was born as a venue for concerts. He was active in student activism and founded a Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League section on campus. In the early 20s, Dim Mak had started his own record label, which he called Dim Mak in honor of his hero from childhood Bruce Lee. He released I'm in the House in March 2010 in collaboration with Zuper Blahq who is the alter-ego of will.i.am from The Black Eyed Peas. The track made it to No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in the first week. It ranked in the top 5 on both the U.K. Indie Chart & U.K. Dance Chart. The song was featured in the MTV series Jersey Shore. It also made an appearance in Piranha the feature film Piranha, and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he as well as Rivers Cuomo had just worked on an album. Pollstar declared him the top-grossing North America dance artist from tours in 2012 He has collaborated with artists like Afrojack and Linkin Park, Afrojack. Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon.
